Lachlan and Western Regional Services Inc is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation.
Our mission is to empower and assist the disadvantaged to grow a sustainable regional community that is culturally, socially, and economically viable.
Lachlan and Western Regional Services Inc (LWRS) was formed at a community meeting in 1999. LWRS was originally formed as the Condobolin Development Group under the auspice of the Lachlan Advisory Group. LWRS incorporated in its own right in 2001 under the title Western Plains Regional Development Inc (WPRD), in recognition that it served a region larger than the township of Condobolin – in fact, a region that now exceeds the boundaries of the Lachlan Shire.
WPRD became a registered charity working tirelessly to improve the lives of people, particularly those most disadvantaged within the community. Our organisation seeks to identify gaps in community services, and works to support the community to improve both the access to and availability of services, and to support, train and enhance the lives of our community members.
In 2021, after 15 years of debate, WPRD’s name and constitution were changed, and Lachlan and Western Regional Services Inc was born.
